A celebration of work by artists who have used the Gazebo as a studio in which to create.
In the summer of 2022, artists were offered the chance to use the Gazebo at Sissinghurst, which was designed and erected in the formal garden in 1969 by Nigel and Benedict Nicolson as a memorial to their father Harold Nicolson.
Sixteen shortlisted artists have submitted works created in the Gazebo and inspired by the spectacular pastoral views.
Mediums include photography, abstract sculptures, poetry, watercolours and more.

With extremely limited availability, take this unique opportunity to step inside Vita Sackville West's Writing Room in the Sissinghurst Tower. The team are reaching the end of a long conservation process after the ceiling collapsed.
They are excited to share with you the history of the space and the incredible work that has gone into its restoration so far. This will be a chance to see conservation in action up close before the finishing touches to the process are made.
Vita's Writing Room is usually only open to view from the outside, so take advantage of this rare opportunity to stand in the footsteps of Vita.

This year's theme is 'Ordinary People'. It highlights the ordinary people who let genocide happen, those who perpetrated genocide, the rescuers and those who were persecuted.
There will be a selection of readings, music and reflections for Holocaust Memorial Day between 11.15 and 12.00 in The Amelia Scott.
Dustin Lustig-Prean, whose mother Erica Prean witnessed the events of Kristallnacht (the November Pogroms) as an eight year old child in Aachen, Germany, will be speaking. Erica, as a child refugee came to Britain on the Kindertransport.
Erica was a Beacon Girl, so called as she was one of the refugees who was given refuge at the Beacon Hotel in Rusthall.

David Howarth is an Emeritus Professor of Edinburgh University. His book on the genesis of the East India Company and entitled: Adventurers: The Improbable Rise of the East India Company, 1550-1650, is published by Yale University Press and will be available from Waterstones from 24 January.
