Pick of the Month

My top event for December is also one of the last events of the year. This is the fifth edition of Hug-Many, a New Year's Eve party on the Pantiles which features live music, a DJ, fireworks and that ever-so Tunbridge Wells tradition, a piper. It looks like a lot of fun, I must go one year!

I can't really cover December without mentioning the two major shows that go on throughout December. The Assembly Hall panto this year (from the 7th) is Sleeping Beauty and stars ex-Brookside and now stage actress Claire Sweeney with Derek Moran and Quinn Patrick.  While over the road at Trinity there is an explosion of anarchy, humour and heart with the production of Wind in the Willows from the 13th.

The Forum returns to the Ice Rink with it's Winter Sessions on Thusday evenings (6th & 13th, as well as 2 in November) which features a mix of well established local and some up and coming local artists. Free to enter but why not book a skating session at the same time and make a night of it

Another Christmas favourite is the Spa Valley Railway's Santa Specials (selected dates), kick off your Christmas celebrations with a festive train ride through the Kent & Sussex countryside. (Note: this starts at Eridge station.)

And it wouldn't be Christmas without The Nutcracker; this year there are two versions available on screen. From the 3rd there are many showings of the Royal Ballet version at all the major screen venues in the area and then on the 23rd there is a more limited release of the Bolshoi's version.
