Disgusted Ladies: An Evening with Anne Carwardine

In the centenary year of women getting the vote in the United Kingdom, we welcome author Anne Carwardine, who will be sharing just some of the stories of a very particular group of inspiring women.

From Matilda Biggs, who signed the first national petition in 1866, to Olive Walton, who went on hunger strike and was force fed in 1912, Tunbridge Wells was home to a series of ordinary yet extraordinary Votes for Women campaigners.

This looks set to be a fascinating evening: come and join us!

Tickets are £3, redeemable against the purchase of the book on the night.

The Best of May

In the midst of various music acts the Assembly Hall has Grease (15-19 May), this production from TWODS will be excellent so worth checking out. This is followed (from 29 May) by Joe Pasquale as the hapless Frank Spencer in Some Mother Do 'Ave 'Em. If you hanker for a bit of slapstick this may be for you.
