Ex Cathedra: In 40 Parts

Assembly Hall Theatre

Sat 22nd Sep

Ex Cathedra are one of Britain’s very best choirs according to the New York Times. They bring an epic programme with no fewer than four pieces written in 40 parts.

The 50th anniversary of the first manned orbit of the Moon is also the perfect time to hear Alec Roth’s 40-part Earthrise, a stunning piece that takes its inspiration from that breath-taking Apollo 8 photo.

  • Thomas Tallis: Spem in alium
  • Alessandro Striggio: Ecce beatam lucem
  • Gabriel Jackson: Sanctum est verum lumen (2005)
  • Alec Roth: Earthrise (2010)
  • Thomas Tallis: Sing and glorify

Jeffrey Skidmore  conducts.

The Best of June

New to the Pantiles for 2018 is the Gin and Jazz Festival (9th & 10th). A specialist market featuring many gin producers. With champagne and other treats to try, music on the bandstand and plenty of food stalls it's just what you would expect from what, I am sure, will be a popular Pantiles event.
